This tells us something important about the necessity of conservation efforts in our state. Louisiana has an abundance of biodiversity, and we’re home to numerous rare natural communities… like the Louisiana Black Bear, Bottomland hardwood forests, our crawfish/rice aquaculture, and MUCH more!
Our work in preserving lands and waters is vital, because protecting our natural areas allows them to work the way they’re supposed to… and support the beautiful biodiversity we’re lucky to have. When we overdevelop, pave over floodplains, and make nature less resilient to climate change, the diversity that makes our state so special WILL become more imperiled!
